The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy honored three Connecticut conservation programs for helping businesses and residents reduce their energy use.
The Small Business Energy Advantage, Residential New Construction, and Home Energy Solutions programs all received exemplary status from the Washington, D.C. nonprofit research group.
All three programs are run through the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund and are administered by electric utilities Connecticut Light & Power and United Illuminating.
The programs use a fee collected on ratepayer bills to help residents and businesses pay for more efficient light bulbs and equipment, better insulation, and weatherization.
