Danbury industrial-gas maker Praxair Inc. is erecting a second air-separation plant and extending its pipeline system serving one of the world’s busiest petrochemical hubs in Belgium.
Praxair didn’t say what it’s spending on its expansion at the Port of Antwerp, in Schoten, Belgium.
The second air-separator is due to come online in early 2016, Praxair said. The 1,300-ton-per-day plant will increase its oxygen and nitrogen capacity in the port and expand its business with customers under long-term contracts.
Praxair’s Antwerp port presence dates back more than 45 years, officials said.
