CT plastic surgeon surrenders licenses

State Attorney General Richard Blumenthal says a Ridgefield plastic surgeon has agreed to surrender her doctor and facility licenses after dangerous conditions were found at her practice.

Blumenthal says state health inspectors visited Connecticut Plastic Surgery Center run by Dr. Teresita Mascardo and found numerous problems, including animal droppings on equipment and single-use medical supplies with blood and other human fluids on them that had been placed back into their packages and resealed.

The attorney general’s office obtained a state order last week suspending the facility’s license.

A phone message was left at Mascardo’s home Monday.
