CT partners in Bridgeport tech incubator

The state and the University of Bridgeport have created an incubator to promote development of high-technology startups in Fairfield County.

Gov. M. Jodi Rell and the university say they hope the campus-based CTech IncUBator will spark economic development and new jobs to the Greater Bridgeport and county region.

Connecticut Innovations Inc., the state’s quasi-public agency overseeing investment in technology-related startups, is the state’s liaision to the project.

The incubator, whose offices are due to open in early summer at 250 Myrtle Ave. in Bridgeport, will provide access to mentors, university research facilities and faculty, student interns and pro bono or discounted business advice from partner sponsors, officials said.
