CT opens two more Sandy relief centers

Connecticut officials will open offices today in Middlesex and New London Counties to facilitate financial aid to Connecticut property owners impacted by Superstorm Sandy, Gov. Dannel Malloy’s office announced.

The state now has six such offices, after opening locations in East Haven, Milford, Norwalk and Fairfield. The centers have held more than 540 appointments in their first several weeks, officials said.

Assistance ranging from $10,000 to $150,000 is available to replace and repair homes and make them more resilient to future storms. Only expenses not covered by insurance, FEMA aid or other sources of funding are eligible.
