Connecticut municipalities issued 375 new housing permits in July, compared to 258 in the year-ago period.

With the new housing units authorized in July, the year-to-date total reached 2,092 units, putting Connecticut well ahead of last year’s new home construction pace by 39 percent, when 21,508 permits were issued, according to data released Thursday by the state Department of Economic and Community Development.
