CT nets $533K from Lidoderm settlement

Connecticut’s share of a federal settlement with Pennsylvania drug maker Endo Health Solutions over improper marketing of its shingles drug Lidoderm is $533,404, Attorney General George Jepsen’s office announced.

The overall $193 million settlement — which includes $20 million in criminal penalties —resolves allegations that Endo Health Solution marketed the shingles drug between 1999 and 2007 for conditions not approved by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration, including for lower-back and chronic pain.

The improper marketing led to false and fraudulent claims sent to Connecticut’s Medicaid program, Jepsen said.
