The Connecticut State Medical Society has inked a partnership with Amagine Inc., an online service that will provide a single point of access to over 20 health IT solutions and resources for in-state physicians.
The portal will also provide access to registries, electronic prescribing, claims management, communication services, and knowledge base tools.
The goal of the new partnership is to try to make it easier for small physician practices in the state to find and adopt information technology that is affordable, officials said.
Amagine, which is a subsidiary of the American Medical Association, also consultants perform practice assessments to determine a medical practice’s readiness to adopt advanced health IT and make tailored recommendations.
This is Amagine’s second agreement with a state medical society and its first since the physician portal became nationally available in April of this year. I
“Small and solo physician practices, which represent more than 80% of Connecticut physicians, are at a distinct disadvantage when it comes to the kind of investment necessary to integrate health IT. The AMAGINE portal will allow CSMS members to have access to a suite of solutions developed by those who know and understand physicians and their needs best,” said Matthew C. Katz, CSMS executive vice president. ”
