CT manufacturing education gets boost from Motorola

The Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology, an East Hartford nonprofit, said it will share a $75,000 grant with a national association to expand its summer manufacturing academy for students in grades seven through nine.

CCAT will work with the Manufacturing Institute, an affiliate of the National Association of Manufacturers, to expand its 10-day manufacturing summer course, called ‘Supporting a Manufacturing Renaissance.’ The program has space for 50 students and professional workshops for 40 teachers.

The grant is from the Motorola Solutions Foundation, which has provided $3.4 million to STEM education programs since 2007.
