Hubbell Incorporated, a Shelton-based manufacturer of utility and electrical equipment, has agreed to acquire North Carolina-based NSI Industries for $3 billion from New York private equity firm Sentinel Capital Partners.
Sentinel said it entered into a definitive agreement to sell NSI after acquiring the company in 2024. Last year, Sentinel sold NSI’s HVAC division to Lennox International for about $550 million.
NSI manufactures electrical power components sold into industrial, infrastructure and commercial markets. Its products include electrical fittings, connectors, components and wire management devices.
The acquisition marks Hubbell’s latest expansion move. In August, the company acquired California-based DMC Power, a provider of connectors and tooling for utility substation and transmission markets, in an $825 million cash deal.
