CT Lottery taps new marketing, ad agencies

The Connecticut Lottery Corp. has selected two communications agencies from Middletown and Glastonbury as its new advertising and marketing partners.

Makiaris Media of Middletown and Glastonbury-based Decker Creative Marketing were selected during a competitive bidding process that launched last November, CT Lottery officials said Friday.

The two companies, which have collaborated since 2003, submitted a joint proposal with Makiaris Media listed as the contracted agency, they said.

Makiaris Media and Decker Creative Marketing will succeed Massachusetts-based Fuseideas marketing agency.

The pair will be tasked with managing CT Lottery’s advertising and related services including brand insight and strategy, research and planning, social media, and media planning and buying.

“What excites me about the CT Lottery account is not only what we can do for them, but how they have provided us with this great opportunity to grow our businesses and add more staff, which is great news for the state,” Makiaris Media President John Scully said.
