Connecticut on Wednesday joined a $1.25 million effort to accelerate the commercialization of emerging New England clean energy technologies.
The network will be led by the New England Clean Energy Foundation and funded by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration.
The plan calls for connecting technology entrepreneurs with potential customers and industry experts; providing mentoring resources and education; hosting showcasing and networking;Â and awarding development grants.
While energy innovation exists in all six New England states, there was no previous mechanism for the states to work together across their borders.
Connecticut is working to make itself a leader in the clean technology industry by providing incentives to install renewable energy throughout the state and encourage development of new products.
