Maine insurance provider Acadia Insurance, with local offices in Connecticut, now offers green energy insurance for contractors and businesses working with solar panels.
For operators of solar equipment, policies include coverage for property, equipment breakdown and loss of income. For installers, policies cover testing breakdown, delays in completion and transit.
“Without up-to-date builders risk and special property coverage, building contractors and their customers could be opening up their business to significant exposure,” said Barry may, Acadia vice president, in a press release.
