CT insulation installer sold to Ohio firm

Bethel’s U.S. Insulation Corp., whose primary markets are Hartford and Danbury, has been acquired by one of the nation’s vendors of insulation and other products for new homes.

Installed Building Products Inc., of Columbus, Ohio, didn’t say what it paid for U.S. Insulation.

IBP Chairman and CEO Jeff Edwards said U.S. Insulation’s 2013 revenue from its two service branches for installed fiberglass and spray-foam insulation and related products was about $9 million.

The acquisition deepens IBP’s footprint in the New York tri-state region and will likely contribute positively to the acquirer’s overall operations right away, Edwards said.
