CT Innovations reshuffles top execs

The state’s quasi-public venture capital arm said it has promoted David Wurzer, a senior managing director, to chief investment officer and executive vice president.

Wurzer takes the CIO title from longtime CI executive Peter Longo, who moving forward is senior managing director of investments. Prior to Claire Leonardi’s hire as CEO in 2012, Longo was CI’s top executive.

CI said Longo wanted to spend more time managing investments and portfolio companies.

Wurzer, 55, has over 30 years of corporate experience, including more than a decade with Massachusetts-based CuraGen, a former CI portfolio company went public in 1998.
