CT Innovations launches ad campaign to highlight state’s bioscience sector

Rebranded as “Where Science Lives,” Connecticut is being marketed nationwide as the perfect place to start or grow a bioscience company under a new initiative by Connecticut Innovations.

With a website, digital ads and social media postings, the campaign highlights recent expansions and blockbuster funding rounds by state companies including Sema4 and Arvinas.

“The hope is that this campaign highlights what most of us who live here already know – companies can succeed here because of access to capital, resources and top talent, which are essential for growth,” said Matt McCooe, CEO of Connecticut Innovations, a venture capital and financing group.

Marketing efforts are centered around the WhereScienceLives.org website, which features images of peak fall foliage and a frosty glass of beer as part of the pitch for the state.

Farmington’s Primacy ad agency designed the campaign, prompted by state legislation passed in 2018 to position Connecticut as a leader in life sciences.

“This campaign highlights our value proposition for employers and industry professionals,” said Peter Denious, president and CEO of AdvanceCT, formerly known as the Connecticut Economic Resource Center. “We look forward to making new connections and helping interested employers and talent learn more about the life – and the science – in our great state.”
