Connecticut Innovations (CI) announced Tuesday that it invested about $18 million in early-stage companies and fund of funds during the second quarter of its fiscal year, which ended Dec. 31, 2023.
CI is the state’s quasi-public venture capital investor. Of the total second-quarter investment, CI said it invested $7.5 million in climate tech, $5 million in healthcare tech and $3 million in consumer-packaged goods companies.
The other roughly $2.5 million was invested in the technology sector and CI’s portfolio of venture funds.
CI said its second-quarter investments leveraged an additional $443.4 million in outside capital.Â
CI’s largest investments of the quarter were in New York-based Enertiv Inc., an energy data and analytics company; Danbury-based Perosphere Tech Inc., a private medical technologies company; and Savant Systems Inc., a Hyannis, Massachusetts-based technology company.
During fiscal year 2024, 60 angel investors contributed $6 million to 26 businesses through CI’s Angel Investor Tax Credit Program, according to CI.
CI said it has invested about $25.6 million and leveraged $505.9 million year to date.
