CT ice cream vs. KY ham in men’s Final Four

Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy is putting up big stakes in his wager with Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear over the outcome of the NCAA men’s Final Four matchup between UConn and Kentucky on Saturday night.

Ice cream.

Malloy is laying UConn Dairy Bar ice cream on the line against Beshear’s wager of a Kentucky country ham over the game pitting the Huskies against the Kentucky Wildcats.

“Governor Beshear will probably want to drown his sorrows in a big bowl of UConn Dairy Bar ice cream when his Wildcats lose, but I’ll be the one enjoying his ham instead!” Malloy said in a press release.

The contest starts at 8:49 p.m. Saturday in Houston. The winner – in addition to providing their governor with ice cream or ham – will play the winner of Butler and Virginia Commonwealth for the national championship on Monday.

“Everyone knows that Kentucky is the premier state for outstanding college basketball and fine country hams,” Beshear said in a press release.
