Permits issued for new home construction across Connecticut rose 4 percent in July, but remain well off the year-to-date pace of a year ago, the state Department of Economic and Community Development said today.
Cities and towns issued 446 new housing permits in July, up from 409 a year earlier, the economic development agency said.
In the first seven months of this year, 1,880 permits were issued, down from 3,096 for the year-to-date in 2008, the agency said.
