Connecticut cities and towns issued 420 housing permits in July, the state’s best July number since 2009, according to the state Department of Economic and Community Development.
Through the first seven months of 2013, housing permits are up 10.3 percent over the same period in 2012, DECD said.
Stratford had the most striking increase, jumping from four permits in July 2012 to 128 this July. That was followed by Rocky Hill, which jumped from nine to 91.
Stamford issued the greatest number of permits in July, at 113, up from 84 a year ago. Hartford issued 19 permits, up from 13.
