New home construction in Connecticut got a boost in November, as new housing permits issued during the month increased by 22 percent, state figures show.
Connecticut municipalities issued 264 new housing permits in November, compared to 216 in year-ago period.
The city of Hartford issued 36 of those permits.
With the new housing units authorized in November, the year-to-date total reached 3,170 units, putting Connecticut ahead of last year’s new home construction pace by nearly 10 percent, according to data released Tuesday by the state Department of Economic and Community Development.
Permits are issued for single-family houses, condominiums and apartment units.
The data from DECD includes housing permits issued from 128 of the 169 municipalities in Connecticut.
