CT housing permits dip in June

After strong gains in four of the five first months of the year, Connecticut housing permits dipped 4 percent in June, according to state officials.

There were 389 permits authorized in June, down from 405 in June 2012, and up from 380 in May 2013, according to the Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD).

Though the state lost some of the ground it had gained, through June, Connecticut building officials have issued 1,887 permits, up 10 percent over the same period in 2012.

Hartford has issued 17 permits so far this year, up from 10, while West Hartford is down 16 percent to 31 permits.
