Connecticut nearly doubled its count of residential construction permits issued in September from a year ago, more proof of this year’s strengthening housing industry.
There were 454 permits issued last month for single- and multi-family dwellings in the 128 cities and towns surveyed, the state Department of Economic and Community Development said Monday.
In September 2013, 229 permits were issued.
Through the first nine months of this year, communities surveyed have tallied 3,651 permits vs. 2,952 the January-September period in 2013, DECD said.
