CT home sales up in May

Home sales rose statewide in May, but prices softened, Realtors say.

There were 2,721 single-family dwellings sold across Connecticut last month, up 3.7 percent from 2,624 sold the same month in 2014, according to the Connecticut Association of Realtors.

Median sale price was flat at $263,000 in May vs. $262,000 in May 2014.

In the townhome/condo segment, sales dropped 2 percent to 732 units sold in May from 746 sold a year ago, state Realtors said.

Their median sale price, however, climbed 3.2 percent to $163,500 vs. $158,500 last year.
