The Connecticut Efficienty Healthy Homes Initiative got its official start on Tuesday, aimed to increase the energy efficiency and decrease the environmental hazards in the state’s residences.
The initiative is part of programming from the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund and is partnered with the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.
The concept is to encourage the state and its residences to weatherize their homes through a variety of programs and also utilize different programs that remove environmental hazards, such as lead paint.
The initiative largely focuses on low-income families, hoping to decrease their energy bills while increasing overall health.
