CT health nonprofit gets $750K for HIV care

Hartford’s Community Health Center Association of Connecticut is getting a $750,000 to expand its treatment and social services to victims of the virus that causes AIDS, authorities say.

The funding is through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Ryan White Title IV AIDS Healthcare Program, Congressman John B. Larson’s office said Thursday.

This grant is apart from a $385,125 grant from the same program to Community Health Services in Hartford in mid-July, authorities said.

The umbrella Connecticut nonprofit association serves more than 500,000 people annually with HIV medical care, behaviorial and dental health, nutrition counseling, among others, at its health centers in Hartford, New Haven, Bridgeport, Willimantic, and Torrington.
