An actuarial report released Tuesday shows that the rates filed with the Department of Insurance for individuals vary, at most, by a little more than 10 percent. The agency still needs to approve, reject or change the proposals for individual and small group plans offered by Access Health CT. Open enrollment begins Oct. 1.
The exchange’s board of directors received a progress report on Tuesday about the rates, which are still not finalized.
Julia Lambert, president of Wakely Consulting Group, said a total of five insurance carriers have submitted rates. She said most of the firms reduced their rates to varying degrees during the Department of Insurance’s vetting process.
