On the eve of the seventh anniversary of the Affordable Care Act, state officials said the federal health insurance law has helped cut in half, to 3.8 percent, Connecticut’s uninsured rate.
Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman and Access Health CT CEO Jim Wadleigh said Monday the state’s uninsured rate is among the lowest in the nation and that the ACA has benefited 724,000 residents across Connecticut who now have health coverage.
Despite the benefits, the U.S. House of representatives has already voted to overturn the federal law in favor of new regulations being advanced by the administration of President Donald J. Trump.
