Connecticut’s Office of Workforce Competitiveness has won a federal grant of nearly $3.1 million to provide training and employment assistance to teens and adults with disabilities, Gov. Dannel Malloy’s office announced.
The state office, part of the state Department of Labor, will hire disability resource coordinators to staff career centers. The coordinators will work with disabled job seekers to overcome job hurdles and find careers.
The grant builds on previous hiring of staff with expertise in disability and workforce issues.
Connecticut was one of eight states to receive a grant.
