CT gets $39K HUD fair-housing grant

Connecticut’s top human rights agency is getting $39,000 from the federal authorities to enforce fair housing laws.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development awarded the grant to the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities (CCHRO) in Hartford.

The funds are part of more than $7.5 million distributed nationwide to promote HUD’s new Equal Access to Housing regulation, which ensures that HUD housing and programs are open to all families, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or marital status.
