CT gas was 10 cents cheaper in ‘13

Though the average price of gas in Connecticut fell 10 cents in 2013, the state was the fourth-most expensive among its 49 peers, according to AAA.

Gas prices here fell from an average of $3.90 in 2012 to an average of $3.80 in 2013, AAA said.

The most expensive states during the year were Hawaii, Alaska and California.

The national average in 2013 was $3.49.

AAA said gas prices will probably be “slightly less” this year because crude oil refineries are expanding their production capacity and increasingly relying on domestic crude.
