CT foreclosure inventory drops

Connecticut’s inventory of foreclosure homes ticked down again in August, according to real estate tracker CoreLogic.

The Nutmeg State’s ratio of homes in foreclosure to all mortgaged homes in the state was 3.9 percent in August, down from 4 percent in July, 4.2 percent in June and 4.3 percent a year ago.

For the past year through August, Connecticut has 3,861 completed foreclosures, up from 3,578 over the same period a year ago. The state’s serious delinquency rate is 6.9 percent.

Connecticut remains in the top five states in the country for high foreclosure inventory. In August, Florida, New Jersey, New York and Maine had higher ratios than Connecticut.
