Danbury microchip components supplier ATMI Inc. says its new cleaner product is the first in the semiconductor industry to obtain a federal designation for its benign impact on the environment.
ATMI said the federal Environmental Protection Agency awarded its “Design for the Environment” (DfE) stamp to ATMI’s iCleaner product used in the semiconductor fabrication cleaning process.
ATMI says the designation indicates that a DfE team has screened all product ingredients for possible environmental and health effects.
The company says it collaborated with an unidentified customer to create the iCleaner formulation.
