Insurers Aetna, Cigna, Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. and Electric Boat in Groton were among companies with headquarters or major operations in Connecticut cited with top honors for promoting healthy lifestyles among workers and their families.
The National Business Group on Health, a nonprofit association of large employers, honored 66 companies for encouraging a healthy workplace and for encouraging workers to be healthy on and off the job.
Aetna and Cigna received the group’s platinum award for 2010.
The Hartford, Electric Boat, Pfizer, Prudential, WellPoint, parent of Anthem Blue Cross of Connecticut, and Boehringer Ingelheim took home the gold award.
