BlumShapiro Consulting has sold a piece of its software consulting business to a Westbrook firm.
Computer Management Services LLC bought BlumShapiro’s Sage business management software practice for an undisclosed sum.
CMS was already a provider of Sage products and services, and said the addition of BlumShapiro’s approximately 347 Sage clients expands its New England footprint.
Tom Devitto, chief marketing officer at BlumShapiro, said Wednesday morning that the business will focus on its accounting software offerings, which include Intacct and nonprofit-focused Accufund.
He said those offerings are cloud-based, which the firm has found to be less expensive and more efficient.
“It means they can be updated remotely and don’t require hardware on site,” Devitto said.
