Jay Drew, the facilities project manager for the Connecticut General Assembly and vice president of the International Facility Management Association Connecticut Chapter, was presented the Chairman’s Citation at the IFMA International Awards of Excellence banquet in New Orleans, LA.
Chairman’s Citations honor the behind-the-scenes leadership, hard work, selfless actions and exceptional achievements of those who drive the profession and industry.
Drew was recognized for his support of the IFMA Foundation’s science, technology, engineering and math program development.
Webster Bank VP Receives Junior Achievement Hall of Fame Award
Webster Bank executive vice president of commercial banking John Ciulla, center left, has been named this year’s recipient of Junior Achievement of Western Connecticut’s Dr. George R. Dunbar Free Enterprise Hall of Fame award.
The honor is given to business leaders from western Connecticut who have made outstanding and enduring contributions in the area of private enterprise and who have also demonstrated dedication to their communities.
Ciulla joined Webster in 2004 and in January was promoted from head of middle market banking to lead commercial banking.
Manchester Comm. College To Lead CT’s $15M Advanced Manufacturing Initiative
Manchester Community College has been chosen to lead a consortium of community and state colleges in rolling out and implementing the $15 million Connecticut Advanced Manufacturing Initiative (CAMI).
The initiative will expand manufacturing education, including further development of advanced manufacturing centers, to every community college in Connecticut.
MCC is receiving $6 million to support its consortium leadership role. It will oversee the team responsible for each consortium member’s responsibilities, outcomes and deliverables towards the overall success of the grant.
