Connecticut’s health insurance exchange Access Health CT received a top grade in an independent ranking by HealthPocket for its quick plan comparison process.
The insurance website found that Access Health had the fewest steps for consumers to compare health plans online. The state with the most steps required to compare plans was Minnesota.
Maryland, Nevada, New York, Washington, D.C., and Vermont did not allow consumers to anonymously compare plans, while Hawaii’s exchange did not have plan comparison functionality released yet.
“HealthPocket uncovered an uneven state of affairs with respect to the individual state exchanges,” Kev Coleman, head of research and data at HealthPocket, said in an announcement. “Progress has been made but issues like what was experienced with Hawaii’s health insurance exchange could easily erode consumer confidence in an exchange.”
