A national engineering, planning and design company, VHB, has acquired a prominent civil engineering firm in Wethersfield, Close, Jensen and Miller (CJM).
CJM, established in 1926, is known for providing consulting engineering services for bridge and highway projects, hydraulic design, construction support, and land surveying.
VHB, based in Watertown, Massachusetts, will add 26 transportation engineering and design professionals from CJM to its New England team, which is composed of about 1,000 employees.
“With the addition of CJM, VHB is better positioned to maximize opportunities within Connecticut and broaden our impact on the communities we serve,” said Robin Bousa, managing director of VHB Connecticut. “The CJM team’s extensive experience and established client relationships will strengthen our structural team and enhance our ability to deliver integrated services to all of our transportation clients.”
Robert Brickley, executive vice president of CJM, will transition to VHB’s leadership team and will work with John Hapkiewicz, VHB’s Connecticut Director of Transportation.
Brickley said the acquisition gives VHB “access to additional resources to continue to deliver critical infrastructure projects for the Connecticut Department of Transportation,” and “creates new opportunities for career growth.”
VHB has 2,200 employees including engineers, scientists, planners and designers who partner with public and private clients.
