CTenergysavings.com debuted a new tool on its Web site to help Connecticut businesses and residents to save more than 20 percent on their electric bills by comparing all of the state’s energy suppliers.
Since the power industry was deregulated in 2000, businesses and residents have been slow to take advantage of the new competition by shopping around for the best rates from approved suppliers. While businesses caught on quicker, nearly 75 percent of Connecticut electric customers still haven’t switched.
The latest tool on CTenergysavings.com allows electric customers to compare the suppliers’ various rates and then choose one. There is no charge or interruption in service, and bills will still be issued from either United Illuminating or Connecticut Light & Power.
