For successfully expanding its service to other forms of energy, The Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund’s home energy efficiency program earned the 2010 Gold Innovation Prize from the Connecticut Quality Improvement Award Partnership.
The Home Energy Solutions Program teams energy efficiency companies with willing homeowners to perform inspections and upgrades to maximize energy use. The program is paid for by the Connecticut electric utilities through the energy efficiency fund.
In addition to electric, the HES program expanded to households heated by fuel oil and propane. Previously, those homes received the service at a much higher cost.
The award ceremony will be Oct. 29.
