The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has named Connecticut a Home Performance with Energy Star state, based on the work of the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund.
The fund’s Home Energy Solutions program can now provide applicants with locating and sealing drafts, cracks and leaks throughout a home; evaluating insulation, installing energy-saving lighting; installing water-saving shower heads and faucets; providing rebates for HVAC upgrades with Energy-Star products; and helping with other add-on services to help with a home’s energy efficiency.
“Through Home Performance with Energy Star, homeowners in Connecticut can now take a comprehensive, whole-house approach to improving the energy efficiency and comfort of their homes, while also helping to protect the environment,” said Rebecca Hudson from EPA’s Energy Star Residential Branch, in a press release.
Homeowners can apply for a Home Energy Solutions audit through the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund. The fund also has similar programs for businesses.
