The Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund last week launched its Energy Challenge for residential customers of Connecticut Light & Power and United Illuminated to compete for cash prizes by significantly or creatively reducing their energy consumption.
First prize will get $1,000 while second and third receive $500 and $250.
Contestants may apply through the CTEnergyInfo.com Web site. Applications will be accepted until Dec. 10. Winners will be announced Dec. 17.
