The Connecticut Commission for Educational Technology has revealed a five-year plan to promote digital learning, technology infrastructure and data and privacy in the state.
CCET’s mission is to technologically support schools, libraries, and institutions of higher education. Its latest plan supports policies, programs, and resources that enable the effective use of technology for all students, teachers, and educational organizations in the state.
The eight initiatives in the plan reflect best practices, national and international standards, and the expert guidance of diverse thought leaders from across the state, said Doug Casey, the commission’s executive director.
Those initiatives cover: open education resources, education innovation, technology standards, maximizing federal funding, digital equity, educational technology best practices, privacy compliance and privacy best practices.
Efforts in open education resources, for instance, will result in the launch of a searchable website of millions of standards-aligned affordable digital resources for teachers and students.
