East Haven private career trainer Premier Education Group has acquired the American Institute College of Health Professions and its campuses in Kissimmee, Fla. and Denver.
The acquisition helps Premier expand its footprint while other privately run education institutions close their doors as the result of new regulations from the U.S. Department of Education. Premier now employs 1,360, including 331 in Connecticut.
The American Institute College of Health Professions joined Premier on Tuesday, offering courses to students through online, on-campus labs, and clinical internships.
With the deal closed, Premier now operates 27 campuses throughout the U.S.
