The Connecticut Green Building Council honored 10 completed building projects for their efforts toward renewable construction and sustainable living.
At the awards ceremony last week in New Haven, the CTGBC handed out seven commercial and institution awards to the Town of East Hartford for the East Hartford Fire House; the Stepping Stones Museum for Children in Norwalk for its upgrades; Yale-New Haven Hospital for the Smilow Cancer Hospital; the Fusco Corp. in New Haven for the Park St. Clinical Laboratory Building; the Horace Mann School in Washington for the John Dorr Nature Laboratory; the Taft School in Watertown for the Horace Dutton Taft Dining Hall; and the Town of Hartford for the Mary M. Hooker Environmental Science Magnet School.
Two home awards were handed out to Nancy Dittes and Curtis Johnson for their Short Beach Residence in Branford, and to James and Martha Crowley for their residence in Greenwich.
New Haven developer Becker & Becker Associates won the multi-use building award for the 360 State Street building.
The Stepping Stones Museum for Children in Norwalk also won the Connecticut Green Advocate Award.
