Cosmetics manufacturer Miyoshi America has partnered with Pennsylvania solar energy company Dynamic Energy to build a solar array at its facility in Dayville, which is a village of Killingly.
The ground-mounted 842-kW solar system is projected to meet nearly 40% of Miyoshi’s annual energy needs, the company said. Miyoshi collaborated with Dynamic Energy throughout the design process in order to customize the array to the site, Miyoshi said.
In a statement, the company said the array will have significant environmental impacts.
“When completed, the ground mounted solar array will… [be] equivalent to removing 172 cars from Connecticut’s roads, or the amount of carbon sequestered by 1,042 acres of U.S. forest each year,” Dynamic said in a statement.
Miyoshi and Dynamic did not say when the array will be complete and online.
