CT Convention and Sports Bureau elects new board chair

The Board of the Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau has a new chair and vice chair.

The bureau is the state’s official event sales and marketing organization, charged with attracting conferences, sports events and other functions to Connecticut.

Alex P. Peterson, the director of government affairs for the Connecticut Airport Authority, will serve as the new chair, with Tina Mazzullo, director of sales for the Residence Inn Stamford Downtown, as vice chair.

Peterson succeeds Thomas Madden, who served as cChair of the bureau’s board since 2018.

The bureau says that bookings it secured in fiscal year 2025 generated approximately $55.8 million in revenue through hotel stays, restaurant business and shopping.
