A Connecticut company has built the fastest production 2016 Chevrolet Camaro that is now available nationwide through dealers.
The 2016 limited edition Callaway Camaro SC600 is a 600-plus horsepower street-legal muscle car that leverages technologies developed for Callaway’s SC757 Corvette Z06. The Camaro has been completely redesigned for 2016.
Old Lyme-based Callaway has redesigned the hood of the Camaro to provide optimal cooling to the engine. The supercharger housing extends up through the hood, exposing it to outside ambient airflow and its benefit of convective heat transfer. This makes the supercharger visible without opening the hood as heat is extracted from the engine compartment by natural flow.
The Callaway Camaro SC600 can be purchased with either an automatic or manual transmission; it is also available as a coupe or convertible. Production is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2016. The Callaway SC600 starts at $54,290 iincluding the base Camaro SS, which has a starting price of $37,295.
