CT community bank names new CEO

A Fairfield County community bank with $533.4 million in assets has named a new president and CEO.

Norwalk-based Connecticut Community Bank appointed Lou Garcia to the leadership role, succeeding David W. Tralka, who will become chairman. The bank reported $453.2 million in deposits at the end of the first quarter.

Garcia has more than 25 years of experience in banking, institutional investment management and alternative investments. He previously was a managing director at an insurance-focused and credit-oriented investment management firm that was later acquired by The Carlyle Group.

Earlier, Garcia spent 16 years as a partner and chief operating officer of a Connecticut-based, SEC-registered investment advisory firm. A New Canaan resident, he earned a bachelor’s degree from Fairfield University and completed advanced professional study through the Wharton Leadership & Management Program.
