CT College’s new president to be inaugurated this weekend

Connecticut College’s new president is set to be inaugurated on Saturday.

Andrea E. Chapdelaine, who previously served as the president of Hood College in Maryland, began as president of the New London college on July 1, 2024.

She was unanimously appointed by the school’s Board of Trustees last March. She is the 12th president of the liberal arts college, which was founded in 1911.

Connecticut College, which has an undergraduate enrollment of just under 2,000, is ranked No. 55 on U.S. News & World Report’s list of the top liberal arts colleges in the nation.

Chapdelaine has more than 30 years of experience in higher education as a professor, dean and provost.
